This beautiful, low mileage example is as nice as they come and service records confirm exceptional care it’s entire life. The vehicle history shows only 5 owners from new. 109833 was produced in July of 1997 and first sold to an owner in Illinois on October 31, 1997. The first owner kept the car for 4.5 years and 7,100 miles. The 1,000 mile service was performed on April 27, 1998 at 1064 miles. The second service was performed December 14, 1998 at 2417 miles. While under the current owners care all services have continued and are thoroughly documented as are all factory recalls and service actions.
The F355 features a 5-valve per-cylinder head producing 375 hp. The longitudinal, rear mounted 90° V8 engine with 85mm bore and 77mm stroke, has a total displacement of 3.5 Litres with an 11:1 compression ratio. Ferrari utilizes a Bosch Motronic M5.2 electronic injection with a single spark plug per cylinder and a dry-sump oil lubrication system to make this a powerful and exhilarating car to drive.
The frame is a steel monocoque with tubular steel rear sub-frame with front and rear suspensions using independent, unequal-length wishbones, coil springs over gas-filled telescopic shock absorbers and anti-roll bars make for a very smooth ride.
The Spider proved to be the second-most popular F355 model, with a total production of 3,717 units, of which 2,664 were produced with the 6-speed transmission and another 1,053 produced with the F1 transmission.
